Actifile Agent 3.0.2.3 is the current and only release of Actifile’s lightweight endpoint component, designed to feed the vendor’s SaaS platform with continuous telemetry from Windows, macOS and Linux devices so that security teams can automate the discovery, monitoring and protection of sensitive data inside a zero-trust architecture. Once installed, the agent passively scans local drives, mapped shares and cloud-sync folders, classifying files against more than 160 pre-built GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS and CCPA patterns while tagging data with immutable risk scores. The resulting inventory is streamed to Actifile’s cloud console, where administrators set policy-based controls such as automatic encryption, quarantine or user prompt before external transfer, ensuring that regulated or proprietary information remains visible and remediated even when endpoints leave the corporate perimeter. Typical deployment scenarios include healthcare clinics that must prove PHI minimization on doctor laptops, financial advisory firms that need to evidence non-public personal information safeguards for SEC audits, and multinational manufacturers that want to prevent CAD drawings from leaking through contractor USB drives. Because classification happens locally and only metadata is sent upstream, bandwidth impact is minimal and privacy requirements are preserved.
